MISSION TRIP TO DENVER AUGUST 2005
The youth group went to Denver to participate in the DOOR program, which helps youth to see the face of God in the city. For more info about DOOR check out their website.
My favorite part of the trip to Denver was when we went to the food bank. At the end of the day we had to throw away all the bread becuase the food bank couldn't give it away. It really made me think. It made me cry inside because I really wanted to help! The lesson to me here is help volunteering. We are God's messenger helping try to get the homeless and those in need to the promised land, helping them to try to survive the desert of homelessness. -Amy

The Soup Kitchen

I'd never been on a mission trip like this. Usually we spend most of our time helping one special family or group. By working with DOOR we were given the opportunity to work with many different programs and were able to interact with many different people. It was amazing to see the faith all these people had. Though they had very little, they trusted God. This made me question why can't I, who have been blessed with so many luxuries in m life have the same confidence that God will give me all I need? So since our mission I have been trying to remember that even if I can't see how He is going to do it God will always give me everything I need. This mission trip wasn't just about touching others, but about how they touched us. - Janelle

On the way home
In Denver there were a lot of things that really touched me, but the one that sticks out was shown to me on the way home. Life is the mission. Sure you can go to other countries or other states and help and that's really awesome, but what happens when you come home? Do you go back to your way of life or do keep doing great things like going and helping in soup kitchens or helping at Salvation Army. Some of the people we met were the most phenomenal people I have ever met. They're there everyday helping people. Sometimes the days are hard but they lean on God so that everyone can have what they need. I just thought that was the thing that touched me.- Jess
